19 weeks update

I had a follow up appointment today with a maternal medicine doc and they did a more intensive ultrasound to check out my issues. Turns out the placenta previa issue I have is only minor. It's partly on my cervix but not all the way. She said there is an 80% chance that by 32 weeks the placenta can move up and away from my cervix. Woo Hoo :) Second the low level of amniotic fluid is low but not dangerously low. Which means in order to fight this I need to drinks TONS of water. More than 1 1/2 gal. a day. I am going to feel like a fish in the sea from here on out but whatever I can do to make this pregnancy work I am going to do it. Another bitter sweet thing is that I am no longer working. I had to quit my job because of these complications. It will be wonderful having my weekends back and being able to have quality time with my hubby again but this also means I have no responsibilities outside the home. I enjoyed getting away 2 days a week to put my focus on something else. I am not going to fret though. I am doing this for this baby and that's what is the most important. I am on light bed rest which means I can only do minor things around the house, like only one thing at a time and very briefly. Its going to be hard but I have to do it. I will be sure to keep updating the further I get along and with each appointment. Not a sigh of relief today but a glimpse of hope.

Looking at my older posts

So I was scanning through some of my older posts and I came across my blog about http://seanndamygandy.blogspot.com/2010/10/burnt-popcorn.html (burnt popcorn) I noticed the date I had blogged & it was roughly one week after I had gotten preggo's. Looks like burnt popcorn is going to be my tell tell sign of when I am pregnant. Haha. I thought it was funny and wanted to share.

Michael Update

I have not posted an update on Michael in a long while and it is way over due. My little guy has grown so much since his 1st birthday. I have a 16 month on going on who knows what age. He is totally and completely MR. INDEPENDENT. Yea he has his moments where he needs his mama but most of the time, leave him ALONE. Haha. He has learned how to climb up onto the couch, which scares me, but he is figuring out how to get down. When we are in our recliner, Michael will grab hold of our feet and pull himself up. He loves giving kisses and getting bear hugs. Two days ago I was giving Michael a hug and he just patted me on my back, melted my heart. I don't know where he learned it from but I love it and am going to look forward to my pats on the back. Anything and Everything is a phone to that kid. If it can be put up to his ear, he talks on it. Oh and he TALKS. He gets his arms moving almost like he is making a speech and if your not listening to him boy does that kid make sure he gets your full attention. He loves giving high fives, shaking hands, pointing to his nose, and he has almost gotten the hang of where his ears are. The kid loves to run. He gets these burst of energy and runs from one side of the living room to the other. When we are outside he stomps his feet on the sidewalk while he runs. He is still so curios about everything. Not so much in that stage anymore where all these new things have to go into his mouth. I am not sure how much our little bug weighs but I am guessing near the 30lbs if not exceeding that weight. My friends 2 1/2 year old weighs just a little under what Michael feels like so I guess we will just have to wait and see at his 18 month well child check up. Everywhere we go people give us looks because of the way Michael talks which is a lot of babbles and they cock their heads and ask how old he is. We tell them and they look like they get a sigh of relief and say "Oh that explains it, he is just so tall for his age." I swear people and their comments just need to keep it to themselves. Where people learned to comment on others people's kids to the parents is just beyond me! Michael has just about 11 teeth. He has had two hair cuts since his 1st birthday. This last one he had I got most of it chopped off and totally regretted in once we got home. I like the longer hair on him. It just fits who he is better. So next time we go in it will be just for a trim. Michael also loves dancing. Music's on, his jam-min out to it. Whether in the store, the car, or at home, if he hears it he's dancing. It also depends on what type of music it is to, he loves him some hip hop and pop. He  dances slowly to any type of country music. He is just to cute. Well I think that is enough for now. If I think of anything else I will post later along with some new pics. Michael is just the best little guy, I love him so much!

Unexpected News

On Saturday February 19 I went to the ER with my husband after I got off of work. I had been having pains on the right side of my body in my hip area steadily for about a few weeks and the pain had just kept getting more and more intense with each passing day. Also for about a week I hadn't felt any flutters from the growing babe inside my tummy. So just for some precautions we went to the ER. We were not able to be seen in the Labor and Delivery because I was under 20 weeks prego. In the ER the checked for a heart beat with the HB monitor and no luck. The nurse said not to worry, it happens a lot this early. I then had an ultra sound and the tech was so quiet for 5 minutes! I was going crazy. I looked at my husband and said "WELL?! Do ya see anything?" The tech was like what? I said we are here because I haven't felt any movement and she said oh they just said you were here for pain, but yea there is plenty of movement and the heart was beating away. She let us hear the baby's heart beat and it sounded really good. I also had a pelvic exam and samples were taking. I also had blood drawn. So here comes the PAC with the news. "Blood looks good, your white blood count is a little high but that may be normal for you, your blood glucose in normal, pelvic exam looked good, baby is moving however, your ultrasound brought up two things that are very concerning. You have placenta previa and Low amniotic fluid. She said my placenta was laying on top of my cervix and that was a concern but not major and then explained that the low amniotic fluid was a high concern. She said this could prevent the baby from growing and developing properly and possibly could cause deformity. " I was in shock, my husband was in shock. Neither of us knew what to say except ask a million questions. The PAC said that these conditions are very common in woman who have had a previous complicated pregnancy and or birth. My pregnancy with Michael was terrific until the very end. So far trouble trouble trouble with this one. My heart is heavy due to the possible outcome I might have to face. The PAC said is was highly likely that I may miscarry and that was not something the either myself or my husband was prepared to hear. When I said that baby in the ultrasound I swear it turned and looked at us and it's little hand came up and waved as if saying "Hi mom, Hi Dad, I'm OK, Don't worry!" This little one has got such a little personality already and it breaks my heart knowing that I might not ever get to meet this little one. I am going to keep my head up however and keep pushing forward. The PAC asked what kind of work I did and she said that the only work that I should be doing is desk work. She recommended that I stop work immediately due to the complications and high risk. I am going to take this one day at a time. That's all I can do.
