Z-Ville Here We Come!

Michael and I will be on our way to Zanesville, OH on March 4. Yes the main reason for our trip is to see my dad but it's NOT the ONLY reason. I have so much family there that I have not seen since spring of 04. It's been hard not seeing them. I used to fly out once a year every summer to see my family and now it's been almost 6 years! Now that my dad is out there it means even more to take a trip out there and hopefully I will be able to go out there once a year. I can't wait for Michael to take his first trip and to meet all of our extended family. It will be hard being away from Sean but we will all manage. We can't wait!

MommyHood-From MY point of view

Well I have now been a mommy for 3 months. It's been interesting this far. The first month was the most challenging I have to admit but I feel like I am doing my best as a mommy. I honestly feel that each parents raises their child how they see fit. I dislike hearing advice/opinions and reading books and how to raise children. That's what maternal instinct is for. Yes some people do need those books because they lack that instinct but most women do what they feel is best. I have always been one to make my own trail. Yes I ask for advice and listen but in the end it's ultimately my decision on how I raise my baby. This is a random blog. I just felt like talking about motherhood :)

1-2-3..........Months Old Already!

Ahh my little man turned 3 months on Jan. 14. Its amazing how much he has grown and changed since he was born. I am enjoying being a mommy so much. Michael is such a joy. Here are some updates on Michael.

He absolutely LOVES taking bathes. We have moved from using the net in his baby tub to him just sitting in the tub with a little seat in it to keep him from sliding down. Since we have done that Michael is splashing the water so much with his feet. He just smiles at me. I think we will be moving his little tub into the bathtub soon! We have just been bathing him on the counter in our bathroom since he was born.

He loves his play time. We have a mat with all this toys the jingle on it. There is one giant one that has a rattle on it and rings and makes crinkly noises. He loves holding onto it and grabbing at it. There is also a chime that he kicks and grabs and just constantly moves it! He loves all the noises. He also likes sitting in his bouncy chair that has toys dangling from it. He smiles and gives the toys this cute little look.

His absolute favorite thing to do now is sit in his high chair (Which he is sitting up like a champ!). While he is sitting in his high chair I turn on some music whether it be country and some good ol rock and roll Michael bops his head back and forth and kicks his feet and sometimes even starts cooin and caain to the music. He def. loves to dance. He also watches me in the kitchen and is so curious as to what I am doing. He watches me everywhere I go!

Michael still wears 0-3 month clothes but his has been wearing 3-6 for quite sometime. They just fit better. Michael has such a brod upper body that the 3-6 just fit him right. His lower portion is still quite small and 0-3 fits him perfect but his little legs are getting long. His has small rolls on his upper thigh and that's it. No other baby rolls. Not yet. He likes his shoes but also loves kicking them off. He despises wearing hats.

We have been using size 2 huggies for quite a while. I just like the bigger fit diaper and Michael is way more comfortable in a bigger size. He hates being wet and fuses when he needs changed. He doesn't have a poopy diaper every day. He just goes about once every other day which is completely normal I have been assured time and time again. When he goes he smiles and grunts and makes the cutest noises and everyone knows that my sons is going poo and its too cute!

Michael and I are getting used to Sean being on the road. Michael doesn't like it but handles it well. I put the phone(on speakerphone) up to Michael and Sean says hi and that he loves him and Michael smiles and his eyes get so big and sometimes he looks around trying to find him which breaks me heart but also warms it knowing he knows his daddy voice so well. He even trys talking back when Sean says are you being a good boy for mommy? or how are you doing? or have you been having fun?

Michael also LOVES and ADORES the ladies. He is such a FLIRT! He just gives them the look and a slight smile. And when they smile and laugh oh boy watch out. Michael just goes on into full flirt mode. He such a little stud!

However at 3 months Michael is sick. It's not the first time. Michael got a little cold about a month ago and got over that quickly but soon after got another cold. He is coughing quite a bit and its hard because I feel so helpless that I can't do anything but the docs say he is just fine and will get over it soon. I didn't understand why he was getting sick because we NEVER go out and when we do I bundle him up. We have a cover over his car seat kinda like a vest and I always have a blanket over the car seat when we are out in public. The docs say its just the time of the year and our house doesn't have the best insulation. Its either too cold or too warm and that makes the air very dry in the house. We got a vaporizer that's is putting moisture back in the air in our house which has helped out SO MUCH and not just for Michael but for all of us!

My computer has been down and so I can't put any pics up yet but hopefully I will be able to soon!

Its been a year..........too long

My father left to move to Ohio on January 3, 2009. This has been by far the biggest challenge I have had to face in my entire life. I wouldn't call my father and I super close but I would say we hold a very special bond. I am and always will be a daddy's girl. Being away from my dad has been extremely difficult and a huge challenge. I was so thankful for him being able to come out on Nov 8. to meet his grandson for the first time and being able to stay out here for almost 3 weeks. When he left I was surprised how well I handled him leaving. I knew we would continue to talk on the phone and keep in touch. It's easy to talk to him but when I find myself looking at his pictures that's when I break down. I miss his hugs, and his cigar scent. I am looking forward to my trip our there with Michael soon. I love you dad.

I love you all the way to the moon and back pops
